Can a 1999 Toyota Sienna haul a trailer?

i’m thinking of a 2-horse trailer. my sister and i both ride horses and compete and participate in 4-H and the trailer fees for our trainer to haul us out are adding up. there are a bunch of trailers on craigslist that i’m looking at, but we don’t have a truck to haul a trailer with. i’ve seen some vans hauling trailers at the many horse shows we’ve been to. we have a 1999 toyota sienna, though, so is there any way to haul a trailer with that?

thanks!

We have a 1998 Toyota Sienna XLE and FYI the XLE version comes equipped with factory towing package and it is my understanding that particular option that adds I think 300 extra pounds.

What you have is a physics or word problem comparing the weight of your horses plus the trailer in comparison to gross weight of your Sienna plus driver bec you certainly don’t want the weight being pulled to exceed your Sienna which could cause you to lose control at higher speeds!

Hope the Above Info Helps!

Yes it will but the transmission will burn out if going over a hundred miles.
